Dr. Martin Talia is a dedicated periodontist committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to every patient he treats. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Dr. Talia combines a West Coast upbringing with extensive clinical training and experience gained across the country. An avid soccer player and outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling with his wife and family.
Dr. Talia earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from New York University College of Dentistry in 2015. He completed a one-year residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) through NYU Lutheran Medical Center at La Maestra Dental Clinic in San Diego. Following several years practicing general dentistry, Dr. Talia pursued advanced specialty training in periodontology and he has recently completed a three-year residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Talia brings over seven years of broad general dentistry experience, including restorative procedures, implant restorations, surgical extractions, and bone grafting. He has completed extensive continuing education in implantology, including a 300-hour AAID Implant MaxiCourse at Loma Linda University and surgical implant training through the Live Implant Training Institute in Mexico, where he placed approximately 30 dental implants.
Actively engaged in professional development, Dr. Talia holds fellowships or memberships in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He is known for his gentle, patient-centered approach and strives to make every patient feel at ease during treatment.
Dr. Talia is also deeply committed to service. He has volunteered with the Thousand Smiles Foundation, providing dental care to underserved children in Mexico, and at UCSD Pre-Dental Clinics, mentoring future dental professionals while serving the local community.
