Dr. Schmidt moved to the Berkshires and joined Dr. Sandrew's practice in June 2011. Originally from Avon, CT, he received his bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, specifically cell and tissue engineering, with honors from the University of Rochester in 2004. From there, he returned to Connecticut, where he earned his dental training from the University of Connecticut in 2008. Dr. Schmidt continued his education by again returning to Rochester. At the University of Rochester Eastman Institute of Oral Health, he received his Certificate in Periodontology and Dental Implants. Dr. Schmidt is a board-certified practitioner. Through all of this training, he has had the support of his wife, Jackie, and three children, Kylie, Cole, and Adleigh.

Western MA Periodontic’s office is the most professionally run dental practice I have ever seen. From Margaret Mary’s comprehensive care plan to Dr. Schmidt’s exceptional expertise, I could not have been in better hands. My procedure to pull a tooth, do a bone graft and put the implant in was pain free and quick, even with the abundance of bad jokes. 🤣 Thank you so much for making me feel at ease.
